Too much time on their hands? Perhaps. But still … very, VERY cool.

Antipodr – it tells you what’s exactly on the opposite side of the world from you. Turns out that what’s on the other side of the world from me is a random spot in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but still … kinda cool.

Craig sent me this link from the New York Times this morning: a video game controlled by your BRAIN!!! Here’s what it looks like:
Pretty trippy. We still know so little about the brain and how it functions – we know a lot about what happens where, but current imaging techniques don’t give us a lot of info about the process. I can’t imagine that these things actually work, especially with the technology they’re using. If you read carefully, they have a pretty limited utility – it’s not like a game with a lot of action sequences! It sounds like any brain activity/muscle contraction is going to produce the effects. Cool, but not as cool as you might initially think!

Gotta love people who have too much time on their hands!
At first I thought, I could see a PC being scary, but a Mac?!! But Craig pointed out that it’s actually a clever way to show off the inherent coolness of your old Mac. He also pointed out that you could never use a PC for this since they have always been boring old ugly boxes. True!
Looks like you can pick these up on eBay for $10-$15 plus shipping. I’m seriously considering this for next year! Who was it making fun of people who had too much time on their hands? %-)

Okay, there’s a company called Blendtec, that makes a commercial, very high-powered blender. They have done a series of (very funny) videos called “Will It Blend” to show the … skills (?) of their blender. Apparently, they post these videos on You Tube, and a bunch of users dared them to try to blend one of the new iPhones. So…they did. Check it out:
http://www.willitblend.com/videos.aspx?type=unsafe&video=iphone .
It hurts me to watch – though I’m not sure they *really* blended the iPhone, it does seem like there is room for some trickery in the video. The even funnier part, they are now auctioning off the blended iPhone on eBay, and the bids are over $1,000 already!!!
Things like this make me feel a lot more confident on my sanity!

Wow! I don’t know what else to say. While I don’t think I would give over a whole room of my house to a Mac shrine, I have to say this is pretty cool. The best part? The bar built out of Mac Classics!

Can you tell I’m doing last-minute Chanukah shopping? These are hilarious.

Similar to week #1, this week’s challenge was to make a collage online?!! Here’s a link to the site:
Collage Machine
Did it, but didn’t really get the point – guess I’m just not feeling that creative this week! My favorite part was a panda bear standing at a tripod taking a picture of a great white shark swimming right at him. I couldn’t figure out how to save the drawing, though, so I can’t post it here. Oh, well! %-)
