Antipodr – it tells you what’s exactly on the opposite side of the world from you. Turns out that what’s on the other side of the world from me is a random spot in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but still … kinda cool.

One for the road? Third time’s a charm? Ha – for McCain it better be! :-) Feeling good about Obama and the odds of this thing turning out well going in to this last debate.

8:10 – the DEMOCRATS = class welfare?!! wow, sometimes they’re really just aren’t words for this idiocies this guy can spew…

8:12 – okay, so we want to model our economy after IRELAND, right…

8:27 – now it’s just getting downright comical, with McCain claiming they are running a truthful campaign!!!

8:40 – how your running mate better ?!! jeez, where does Obama start … what a wimpy answer he gave, though! Obama is really WAY too nice and respectful to McCain!!!

8:42 – McCain says Palin is a role model to women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gagging …

UGH … only half way through and I am pulling my hair out … had to pause Tivo and send Craig for more to drink! :-)

Back and fortified …

McCain is COMPLETELY incoherent on health care, not to mention that his “plan” (using that word VERY loosely) would cost people like us THOUSANDS of dollars a year (despite his claims regarding middle class tax cuts) due to taxing our benefits!!!

And now McCain just contradicted himself in a SINGLE answer on Roe v Wade – not litmus test, but supporters of Roe v Wade aren’t adherent to the constitution; it’s so abundantly clear he doesn’t really believe the Republican platform on this and is just towing the party line and pandering to evangelicals.

Wow – very impressive, I like Obama saying he can stand being attacked, that was an excellent answer, and I bet it plays well with the ever-elusive undecideds.

McCain won’t even endorse his own VP – you can tell he’s realizing he made a HORRIBLE mistake with all that. Dude, one word for you … VETTING!!! What a great process…

Okay, the end. Obama made no mistakes, and gave an even stronger performance than last time. He looks very presidential. McCain looks like the confused, sputtering, stubborn old guy that he is.

That’s the subject line from my friend Tony in the email he sent me with this link this morning – and right he is. I have a hard time believing the original post isn’t a joke, but if it isn’t … well, as a lot of the comments indicated in not such nice terms … the Republicans really have brought this on themselves.

let Obama bring this up tonight in response to the BS about Ayers: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/14/mccain-transition-chief-a_n_134595.html

Scholastic News has released the results of this year’s mock election … Obama wins!!! Their results have mirrored the actual election in all but two cases since they started this in 1940. Let’s hope it hold true this year as well!

Both my kids voted in the “election”, and they are very excited about the results. Their school has really gone all out on the election this year – they’re having representatives from both the McCain and Obama camps come and do a little mini-debate, and the whole school has been doing projects related to the election. I’m really impressed with how much they’ve learned, and how invested they seem in the outcome. They are still counting yard signs almost every day on the way to school, too – they call our neighborhood “McCainville” (there are more McCain signs than Obama signs), and the area nearer to their school they call “Obamaland”.

Yes, it is true … the W presidency is down to double-digit days. Woohoo!!!

Though of course given the last 3 weeks it’s hard telling how much more damage the guy can do in the final 3 months.

But, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

If you want to see some fun countdown clocks (or buy your own), check these out:

There’s also a very cool Firefox add-on which will rest conveniently in the bottom right hand corner of your browser pages to remind you of the days – it makes me feel hope every time I look at it!

Here we go again … live from Music City! My mom wondered if I was going to the debate … umm … no. Essentially NO ONE from Nashville got to go, except the members of the Board of Trust at Belmont. They brought almost the whole audience in from outside – “random” undecided voters from around the country. I still don’t know how you’re undecided in this election, but, lots of things are completely mystifying! I thought about trying to pretend to be undecided so I could go to the debate, but I didn’t think I could pull it off. :-P

And they’re off…

Did McCain really just say defense spending was corrupt? That would be possibly the first time I ever ever agreed with the man, and is quite the interesting argument for someone who supports throwing more money at the war.

Still don’t get how McCain says with a straight face that Obama is too be faulted for “not taking on his party”. That’s beautiful from someone who voted with W over 90% of the time! Not to mention that fact that maybe the reason Obama hasn’t taken on his party more is because his party isn’t a bunch of crack-head sorry pieces of shit who have raped our country for everything they can bilk out of it for the last 8 years! Not that I am biased, or anything like that! :-)

Nuclear fuel is CLEAN?!! Oh, and the reason to do it is because the Japanese and French do it????!!!!!

YES finally Obama says … McCain has been in Washington 26 years, and what has he done. So much for being a “maverick” – how I have come to hate that word!

Obama supports storing and reprocessing of nuclear fuel – that’s a critique?!! what the f*%#! else do you do with it?!!

Sigh …

Can’t believe there is still almost a month to go before all this is settled!

More reasons to admire Sarah Palin … NOT!

And how Cindy McCain can say this with a straight face is beyond me! Truly. Did your husband not JUST announce over the weekend that he was turning to a 100% negative campaign strategy?!! How stupid do you think people are?!!

Okay, need to take LOTS of deep breaths between now and the debate tonight so I don’t stroke out from high blood pressure when McCain starts spewing his crap…

OMG, came across this little gem today, and laughed so hard I almost cried. Then realized it was more scary than funny, and almost cried again! I think this captures the gist of how things went pretty well…

Going to try the blow-by-blow again …

Criticizing Obama for voting with his party?!! That’s just funny. And, typical of Republicans, completely false and deliberately misleading. Ugh … gonna be a long night.

Does she really NOT know that corporate taxes and personal taxes are wholly SEPARATE?!! Actually, scratch that, obviously she doesn’t know … ANYTHING! :-P

How do tax credits not cost the government money?

She’s giving little mini speeches – she doesn’t even try to answer the questions … not that she could…

Cyclical temperature changes on our planet?????!!!!!!! Someone should’ve asked her a follow-up on that one … the panic in her eyes would’ve been classic!

Good for Biden for standing up for what he believes in with the gay rights issue…

okay, so she’s FOR gay marriage???

“Not reading the history of the last 700 years” – best quote of the debate

Seriously, nucular is NOT A WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love how she speaks so slowly and carefully when she says the names of foreign leaders … they clearly practiced that part!

Did she just say women’s rights?!!!

One side or the other (Israel/Palestinians) – like it doesn’t matter?!!

Gee, it’s super-easy to disdain the “blame game” … when YOU’RE THE FUCKING CAUSE!!!

Really … comparing W with other administrations’ mistakes???

I think they should have internet-equipped laptops at the debates so they can do John Stewart-like contrast clips where they show actual footage of what people really said … that would be very cool. Of course, Republicans would never allow it since it would seriously hamper their sole and only strategy – bald-faced lying.

Tell us why you voted for the bridge to nowhere and then changed your mind … how does SHE have the gall to talk about consistency???!!!!!!

McCain knows how to win a war … like what, Vietnam?!!

FINALLY Biden takes on the “maverick” issue. W stooges aren’t mavericks, people!!!

“I like being able to answer these tough questions” – seriously, she didn’t answer shit!

“It’s time for you America to get up together” – good job, Biden

Well … in the end, I am a little disappointed. Biden could’ve delivered a knockout lunch tonight … and didn’t. She didn’t answer a single question, BUT, I think she avoided mistakes in a way that might make it seem like she might win (to Joe 6-pack).

Kudos to Biden for coming out emphatically for gay rights, and for showing righteous indignation in a couple of places.

And by the way, HOW is it POSSIBLE that 24% of voters are still undecided?!! That’s what Katie Couric says, anyway.

The instant polls look good, though Craig points out they’re very unreliable.

I am SO ready for this to just all be over…
