Okay, the rumor is that Billy Gillispie supposedly called Texas A&M right after the Gardner-Webb debacle and begged for his job back – what the #@*!% ?!! To their credit, Texas A&M supposedly told him to go blow. Here’s the full story http://www.serioussportsnewsnetwork.com/2007/11/billy-gillespie-asked-for-am-job-back-after-loss-to-gardner-webb.html
Does not inspire a lot of confidence in the future…

The University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, the winningest team in the history of the sport and currently ranked #22 in the nation, lost tonight to Gardner-Webb. Let me say that again (since I don’t quite believe it yet myself): UK 68, Gardner-Webb 84. Here’s the ESPN story in case you need to see for yourself: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/gamecast?gameId=273110096&refresh=30
Honestly, I didn’t even watch this game, since it seemed so irrelevant. I like the way another blogger put it: Gardner-Webb sounds more like a law firm than a basketball team!!! I had literally never even heard of them before tonight. Hopefully I will not hear of them again…
