So, our neighbors built a boat in their backyard. Fine. It’s a pontoon boat. Gotta say, I’d rather buy a boat than build my own, but whatever.

Anyway…the boat’s still there. They finished last Friday and spent the weekend partying on it … while it was still in their backyard. So I thought … well, they just finished it, they’ll put it in the water next weekend. Now here it is the weekend again, and … they’re still partying on the boat … and it’s STILL sitting in their backyard. Seriously.

Maybe they know something I don’t about another flood…

OMG, this is the funniest thing I have seen in a while…

Vote for Sanjaya

Seriously, this Vote for the Worst website – I guess I just don’t get it. I mean, they spend a HUGE amount of time researcher and watching and commenting on this show…yet still claim to hate it. What the &@*% ?!!

Actually, in retrospect, this ad is possibly second in terms of funniness to Sanjaya’s hair – a fauxhawke?!!

I’m comfortable admitting it – I LOVE this show! But in a way, the VFTW people, mean-spirited and jealous though they are, are right in the sense that this show doesn’t really represent “reality”. It’s faux-reality! But watching the drama unfold is HIGHLY entertaining. And, truly, a few of them can actually sing…like Melinda (Craig’s favorite) and Blake (my fav).

I just booked our flights to Europe tonight – non-refundable, so we can’t back out! %-) It has been a while since I have been to Europe – since right before I got pregnant with Sami, actually. Funny how having kids hampers the travel schedule!

Anyway, a seven year draught is WAY too long. Can’t wait! We’ll be visiting Belgium (where I’ve actually never been), and Amsterdam, which is “our city” – we’ve been there several times together, have lots of friends there, and always have a great time! As an added bonus, it will be our anniversary while we’re gone – year #8. This will be my longest time away from the munchkins, though, so I’m a little apprehensive about that. But, they will have a great time while we’re gone, and we’ll bring lots of deluxe treats for them!

Now to find my passport, which needs to be renewed…

Air conditioning repair man just left – two capcacitors on our AC unit have blown. Because it’s so old, one of them has to be ordered. It will be FIVE DAYS before it comes in!!! Five 80+ degree, VERY HUMID days. Craig is getting fans, but circulating hot air is still hot. Sigh…

Sami’s Self-Portrait at the Park
It’s Spring Break for Sami this week! We decided to keep Eli home, too – they both wanted him to, actually. Today we went to the park and played for a long time and had a picnic lunch. It was a sunny 70 degrees with a light breeze – perfect weather for me! We had a fabulous time, and I feel very blessed that my job is flexible enough to allow me to spend this time with them.

It’s Spring Break this week, and Eli has been home sick for 3 days (not exactly the “break” I had in mind %-). So I’m posting a bit late this week. But, better late than never – this week’s challenge is to list out things we’d like to learn how to do. Here’s my current list:

1. Bake great bread
2. Read Hebrew well enough to follow the prayerbook
3. Surf (the ocean, I’ve got the web down! %-)
4. Be more patient
5. Savor each day, not get too bogged down in daily hassles
6. Web programming (more than just basic level)
7. Make my own curry (from scratch)
8. Pilates
9. Take better pictures
10. Sew (at least a little bit)
